The United Sorghum Checkoff Program (USCP), in partnership with Riviana Foods Inc. and Harvest Food Group, has launched individually quick-frozen (IQF), RTE-grade cooked whole grain sorghum.
This significant milestone ensures that the most up-to-date nutritional information on commonly used sorghum products is readily available to consumers and food companies amid growing demand for sorghum.
The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recognize grains as an important part of a healthy eating pattern. Grain foods provide dietary fiber as well as essential vitamins (i.e., folate, thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, riboflavin, and vitamin A) and minerals (i.e., iron, zinc, manganese, copper, magnesium, phosphorous, and selenium).
A serving of cooked whole grain sorghum includes 12 essential nutrients.

The United Sorghum Checkoff Program announced today its new national sponsorship of the American Heart Association’s Healthy for Good initiative, which inspires Americans to make lasting changes in their diets and health one small step at a time.
