The WinS (Women in Snacks) Summit, for women in the snack industry, will take place June 4-5 at the Grand Hyatt Washington, in Washington, D.C., is a key part of SNAC International’s commitment to advancing gender diversity and leadership in the snack industry, SNAC International says. Backed by research linking diverse leadership to stronger business performance, the WinS initiative helps companies cultivate inclusive talent pipelines, foster mentorship, and support professional growth—regardless of gender or background.
This year’s Summit offers men and women alike the tools to navigate challenges and grow as leaders through interactive workshops, dynamic education sessions, and meaningful networking opportunities.
Sessions during this year's conference include:
- Interactive Workshop: Finding Your Voice: The Art of Strategic Self-Advocacy, presented by Heather Wiser Soubra, founder, Wiser Way Coaching, and ICF Certified Professional Certified Coach and executive facilitator. This workshop empowers participants to develop their self-advocacy skills through practical exercises and real-world scenarios. Participants will learn to identify their unique strengths, craft compelling narratives, and effectively communicate their needs and achievements in professional and personal settings. Through interactive role-playing and guided practice, attendees will build confidence in advocating for themselves while supporting others.
- The Power of Your Words: Finding Your Most Authentic, Influential Voice as a Woman Leader, presented by Sarah Hurwitz, First Lady Michelle Obama’s Chief Speechwriter (2010-2017). Sarah Hurwitz, former chief speechwriter for First Lady Michelle Obama, played a pivotal role in crafting some of her most memorable and acclaimed speeches—from the 2008 Democratic National Convention to global addresses during her time in the White House. Before that, Hurwitz served as a senior speechwriter for President Obama and as chief speechwriter for Hillary Clinton during her 2008 presidential campaign
