Flowers Foods expands BFY bread options
New options include high-protein Nature's Own and Dave's Killer sourdough options.

Flowers Foods Inc. has expanded its bread portfolio with new offerings from Nature’s Own and Dave’s Killer Bread. The additions respond to increased consumer interest in higher-protein and better-for-you sourdough products.
The latest rollout includes Nature’s Own Life Wheat + Protein loaf and Perfectly Crafted Italian Herb loaf, as well as Dave’s Killer Bread Supreme Sourdough and the return of Oats & Blues. These launches follow earlier 2025 innovations across the company’s brands, including keto items from Nature’s Own Life, small loaves from Nature’s Own and Wonder, Wonder snack cakes, Dave’s Killer Bread sandwich rolls and snack bites, and Canyon Bakehouse sourdough-style bread.
“Our continued investment in innovation is yielding powerful results as we reshape our portfolio to reflect evolving market trends,” says Mark Courtney, chief brand officer at Flowers Foods. “Our newest products build on strong momentum from earlier this year and bring fresh, differentiated options that speak directly to today’s consumers.”
New Nature's Own offerings, which are are free from artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, and high fructose corn syrup, include:
- Wheat + Protein: A keto-friendly loaf with 9 g net carbs and 22 g protein per two-slice serving.
- Perfectly Crafted Italian Herb: A thick-sliced loaf featuring oregano, rosemary, basil, thyme, and garlic.
New Dave's Killer Bread offerings include:
- Supreme Sourdough: An organic sourdough loaf made with a traditional starter, thick-sliced, and topped with Good Seed. Available in West Coast markets.
- Oats & Blues: A legacy variety made with oats and blue cornmeal, available nationwide in wide pan and thin-sliced formats.
