Dawn Foods expands Hispanic product offerings
The ingredients and solutions supplier is debuting frozen Conchas and Mantecadas.

Dawn Foods, producer of bakery ingredients and solutions, is expanding its Hispanic product offerings with the launch of frozen Conchas and Frozen Mantecadas, available now to bakeries across the U.S.
As consumer interest in authentic Hispanic bakery items continues to rise, Dawn’s newest frozen Panadería products make it easier than ever for bakeries to deliver traditional favorites with speed, consistency, and confidence, the company says. According to the Dawn Global Bakery Trends Study, Conchas and Mantecadas are gaining rapid traction—particularly among Hispanic and Gen Z consumers, two influential groups reportedly shaping the future of the bakery category. The study found that 42% of consumers are interested in trying Conchas, while 53% are interested in Mantecadas, signaling strong growth potential for operators who add these items to their assortments.
“Consumers are actively seeking authentic flavors and culturally rooted bakery experiences, and Hispanic baked goods are answering that demand in a big way,” says Sarah Hickey, VP of marketing, North America, Dawn Foods. “With our new frozen Conchas and Mantecadas, we’re helping bakers tap into these fast-growing trends while simplifying production in an increasingly labor-constrained environment.”
Dawn’s frozen Conchas and Mantecadas are crafted for authentic taste and texture, delivering the rich, traditional flavors customers expect from a true panadería, the company notes—without the complexity of scratch production.
- Frozen Conchas are available in four varieties—white, chocolate, pink, and yellow—and are proof-and-bake.
- Frozen Mantecadas are ready-to-finish after thawing, offering a soft, tender crumb and classic flavor profile with minimal handling, the brand says.
Designed with today’s bakery operations in mind, these frozen formats aim to help reduce prep time, lower labor costs, and ensure consistent quality—making them suitable for independent bakeries, panaderías, in-store supermarket bakeries, foodservice operators, and large retail bakeries alike.
Meeting demand from trend-driving consumers
Hispanic culinary influence continues to expand across the U.S., and desserts and baked goods are no exception. From neighborhood bakeries to national retail chains, Hispanic recipes, ingredients, and flavors are becoming increasingly prominent across bakery menus.
Conchas and Mantecadas can be especially appealing to consumers seeking comfort, nostalgia, and cultural authenticity. The Dawn Global Bakery Trends Study also shows that four out of five consumers enjoy sweet baked goods that remind them of childhood, while three out of four like to try new foods and experiences, reinforcing why traditional Panadería items resonate so strongly with modern shoppers, Dawn says.
Part of Dawn’s growing Panadería portfolio
The new frozen Conchas and Mantecadas join Dawn’s broader Hispanic-inspired lineup, which includes bakery mixes, frozen products, ingredients, and recipes, crafted to support both artisanal and high-volume operations. Dawn’s Panadería lineup includes mixes and solutions for churros and churro doughnuts, tres leches, pan de gloria, pan danés, pan fino, pan de muerto, rosca de reyes, empanadas, and more.
A partner for bakeries
Dawn Foods understands that panaderías take pride in recipes passed down through generations, it says. That’s why the company focuses on helping bakers preserve authentic taste and tradition, it notes—while improving efficiency behind the scenes.
“When bakers partner with Dawn, they gain more than high-quality products—they gain a team committed to their long-term success,” Hickey adds. “Our goal is to help bakeries bring the warmth and tradition of a panadería to their customers while running smarter, more efficient operations.”
