DEBAG wins innovation award at südback
The südback trophy from DBZ magazine goes to Saxony this year: DEBAG Deutsche Backofenbau GmbH won over the professional jury with the new version of the DECON oven with combi steamer function. The internationally present manufacturer of oven and baking technology as well as cooling and proving technology presented its latest product developments and innovations to around 38,000 südback visitors in Stuttgart from October 22-25, 2016. At the trend exhibition for the bakers' and patissiers' trade, the company from Bautzen presented the award winning DECON oven as well as its new DEBAG Foodtech label and celebrated the 80th anniversary of its unique MONSUN technology together with celebrity chef Johann Lafer and the trade fair visitors.
“Each year, we look for technical innovations which make a baker's life easier,” said Stefan Schütter, jury member and deputy chief editor of DBZ magazine. Among this year's trade fair innovations, the jury encountered the new version of the DECON which combines the advantages of a shop baking oven with the function of a combi steamer. “The DECON incorporates so many clever details, making the oven worthy of a trophy. One of the reasons is because it is a true, 100% shop baking oven – with a combi steamer.”
In addition to Mr Schütter and Trond Patzphal, publisher of DBZ magazine, the professional jury also included the external experts Prof. Dr. Friedrich Meuser, retired food technologist from the Technical University of Berlin, and Florian Stukenborg, Head of Research & Development at ttz Bremerhaven. “The DECON received the award because it is a full circulation oven with an additional steaming function, providing bakers at the outlets with more options for expanding their product range.” says Florian Stukenborg.
