At the American Bakers Association (ABA) 2019 Convention, the Allied Trades of the Baking Industry (ATBI) and ABA announced a new scholarship opportunity for aspiring baking industry leaders. Recognizing that development of future leaders is critical to the baking industry’s success, ATBI has partnered with ABA to offer an annual scholarship to help a NextGenBaker attend the annual NextGenBaker Leadership Forum. The scholarship recipient will have their 2019 NextGenBaker Leadership Forum registration and hotel stay covered thanks to the generosity of ATBI.

“As an industry partner, ATBI recognizes the importance of developing the industry’s future leaders,” said Brent Bradshaw, NextGenBaker Co-Chair and Senior Vice President of Core Brands for Flowers Foods.

“ATBI generously agreed to work with ABA to establish this new scholarship supporting an ABA Baker Member’s attendance of the annual NextGenBaker Leadership Forum – taking place this October in Atlanta,” added Brandon Woods, NextGenBaker co-chair and West Coast territory manager for AMF Tromp.

“We are extremely grateful to the ATBI leadership for stepping forward in support for our industry’s future. The NextGenBaker Leadership Forum is a hallmark event of the year, bringing together rising leaders in the wholesale baking industry for two days of professional development and networking,” said Robb MacKie ABA president & CEO. “The ATBI NextGenBaker Scholarship offers a new resource option to bakers eager to participate in this one-of-a-kind program.
