Kerry launches Smart Taste
The solutions range addresses cost, nutrition, and supply chain challenges.

Kerry has introduced Smart Taste, a proprietary range of taste solutions developed to help food and beverage manufacturers navigate industry challenges without compromising flavor.
Smart Taste integrates Kerry’s flavor development capabilities with food science expertise to support cleaner labels, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The platform draws on Kerry’s portfolios in dairy taste, fire-cooked flavors, Tastesense for salt, sweetness and masking, cocoa, and citrus.
“Great taste alone is no longer enough,” says Leigh Anne Vaughan, vice president of strategy and marketing, taste. “Smart Taste directly addresses our customers’ pain points by optimizing flavor profiles in a way that reduces reliance on costly or volatile ingredients, supports cleaner labels, and meets evolving regulations, cost-effectively and sustainably.”
Smart Taste includes solutions for:
- Cocoa reduction: Kerry’s cocoa boosters enable up to 50% cocoa reduction while maintaining flavor, with potential cost savings of up to 40% and carbon emission reductions of up to 48%.
- Sugar reduction: Tastesense Sweetness supports up to 100% sugar reduction by enhancing sweetness perception, rebuilding mouthfeel, and masking off-notes.
