Rich's launches BFY baked goods

The reduced-sugar Happy Orchard portfolio is made with fruit and vegetable purees.

Rich Products has introduced Happy Orchard veggie-boosted baked goods, a new line of fully baked, individually wrapped snacks designed for limited-service restaurants. The portfolio includes three varieties—Chocolate Chip Cookie, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin Loaf—each made with fruit and vegetable purees and containing 25% less sugar than Rich’s traditional counterparts.

Formulated with whole wheat flour, milled flaxseed, and clean-label ingredients, the snacks are positioned to meet growing consumer demand for better-for-you options that do not compromise on taste. According to the 2024 NIQ State of Snacking report, consumers are increasingly seeking snacks with nutritional benefits. Data from 84.51º’s April 2025 Real Time Insights shows that 32% of consumers are purchasing more BFY snacks compared to the previous year.

Each product is fully baked, arrives frozen, and is individually wrapped for convenience:

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie (2.85 oz): Made with zucchini puree and applesauce, contains 4 g protein. Ships frozen, 48 per case. Shelf life: 365 days frozen, 14 days ambient.
  • Chocolate Fudge Brownie (3 oz): Made with pumpkin, banana puree, and raisin paste, contains 4 g protein. Ships frozen, 48 per case. Shelf life: 365 days frozen, 10 days ambient.
  • Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin Loaf (2.8 oz): Made with squash and banana purees, contains 5 g protein. Ships frozen, 48 per case. Shelf life: 365 days frozen, 7 days ambient.

“Our Happy Orchard veggie-boosted baked goods are powered by plants, yet loved for their flavor, so they’ll appeal to health-conscious consumers,” says Alyssa Barrett, senior customer marketing manager at Rich Products. “These sweet treats are a fantastic example of permissible indulgence, since they taste delicious, yet they include simple, clean ingredients and real fruit and vegetable purees for added fiber and vitamins.”
