Big Boy introduces nostalgic menu items
The brand is also bringing back menu classics at prices under $5.

Big Boy, the Midwest diner chain, is inviting its guests to step back into their fondest family memories with the launch of “A Very Big Boy Holiday – A Taste of Home,” a nostalgic holiday campaign running December 1–31 at participating Michigan locations. The limited-time celebration brings back menu classics at throwback prices under $5.
Rooted in nearly 90 years of American dining history, Big Boy continues to evoke the spirit of togetherness that first began in 1936, when founder Bob Wian opened a ten-seat diner in Glendale, CA, the brand says. It was inside Bob’s Pantry that the original Big Boy double-decker burger was created—a simple, imaginative idea that would go on to shape the landscape of family dining across the country, it notes.
Throughout December, guests can step back in time and enjoy A Taste of Home for the Holidays, with deeply discounted throwback pricing on classic Big Boy favorites. The limited-time holiday throwback menu features consumer favorites, including:
Breakfast
- Classic Blockbuster Breakfast: Two farm-fresh eggs, two bacon strips and two sausage links with hash browns or fresh fruit and toast, hotcakes or biscuits. $4.99
- Original Hotcakes: Vanilla hotcakes with butter and syrup. $3.49
- Malted Waffle: Served with butter and syrup, dusted with powdered sugar. $2.99
Desserts
- Hot Fudge Cake: The Classic chocolate hot fudge cake with house-made, vanilla ice cream, Big Boy hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry. $2.49
- Slice of Pie: Flavors include French silk, banana cream, cherry, apple, pumpkin, and coconut cream. $2.99
A Very Big Boy Holiday was designed to honor the past and celebrate the present by sharing a meal. The celebration emphasizes heritage, community, and the enduring joy of returning to a place that feels like home, the brand explains.
“Big Boy is a place where memories are made,” says Tamer Afr, C.E.O. of Big Boy Restaurant Group, LLC. “Everyone has a Big Boy Story! From first dates to first jobs to where grandparents introduced their grandkids to their first milkshake, where families gathered after school concerts and football games, and generations grew up sharing meals in our dining rooms. This holiday season, we want to bring people back to the warmth and joy of those moments, at prices families can easily afford.”
